Frogner House - Bogstadveien - Oslo

This is a review of apartment 2109 on which we stayed between September and December 2023.

The location is amazing. Close to the main shopping streets of Bogstadveien and Hegdehaugsveien. Close 5-10 min walk to the Royal park.

This apartment has its main entrance on the backside, where there are only 2 apartments accessible. Therefore there was a lot of privacy. It is also on street level.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one large bathroom with floor heating, a large storage room in between the two bedrooms and a large livingroom with bedsofa and sitting area. The kitchen is almost fully equipped. Unfortunately not a large fride and freezer. And the freezer had issues, where it would change temperature between +11C and -5C in a couple of hours. We raised this issue and got a stand alone freezer which was placed on the floor of the kitchen.

There was also a lot of things that needed to be fixed that we noticed as soon as we moved in. The window blinders were damaged, the curtain rail in the master bedroom was hanging from the ceiling, there were dust, stains and mold around the apartment, so we called for extra cleaning. Frogner house provided help asap and fixed all issues within a couple of days.

The kitchen is older. Cabinets are worn out and the overall feeling is that it is run down. There definitely needs to be a renovation of the kitchen.

The apartment doesn't have sufficient lighting, which made it feel dark even on a sunny day during winter. There are no ceiling lighting in the kitchen, only 2 lamps. We had to place one of the table lamps on the freezer in the kitchen for more light.
This also applies for the other rooms, where both bedrooms, the hall and living room needs more light.

But as stated, Frogner house were very helpful in many of the issues we had and responded within 1-2 days. Overall very happy with the service, the apartment was very cozy and the location was good.

This review is for a long term stay at apartment 2310, Underhaugsveien 15. If you are staying a week or less , this review might not apply to your decision whether to stay or not.

As we are renovating a House in Oslo, we needed a temporary accommodation for 3-4 months. 2 Adults and 2 teenagers. Rental period Approx 22 July till end of Oct.
We stayed in the apartment about a week before discontinued our lease, and found a different place on Airbnb. These are my observations.

Frogner House advertises this apartment as a long term rental options. This is not the case in my opinion.

• There is only one very small workstation in the apartment and not suitable for anyone to work from the place or for the kids to do any type of homework.
• The apartment is really barren. It is dark with not much lighting and there is not one single picture on the walls. You definitely get the feeling that everything is done on the cheap.
• There is a washer machine but no dryer. I called the admin department and was told that there was drying rack we could use. This is simply not good enough. With 2 adults and 2 teenagers there would be washing hanging in the apartment constantly.
• The kitchen was very sparingly equipped. Two knives and a couple of utensils. You only need to spent a little money at ikea to make it much better than it currently is. This point I found really disappointing. With the provided utensils we have to live on pasta for 3 months,, or buy/bring our own.

Another thing,, which is really just a detail, but quite a telling detail. There is not instruction or manual for example around garbage and disposal of glass bottles, jars and metal boxed (All of these item are recycled at different recycle stations and do not go in the general rubbish).

I work in the Oil and gas industry where I have to do site visits and audit what we do to ensure procedures are followed. Do the Frogner House management do site visits and audit their places. It does not seem so to me. I also gave all this feedback to the Frogner house management without hearing a work back from them. Disappointing.

Would I stay there again? Certainly not for a longer term stay.

If the stay is less than a week I would consider it,, but then again, I would rather do a hotel or Airbnb.

Better then hotel!! Great location, Good breakfast. Clean quite and fully equipped. We were a family of five for two nights , we got kindly assisted for every question. Highly recommended. We will definitely found our new home location in Oslo.

My family came to visit Oslo and I got them a Appartment there. They liked it a lot and felt like home. Close to Bokstadveien and easy to find. Nice space and clean. Modern furniture and a little balcony:)

The room was nice, don’t get me wrong. HOWEVER, they have multiple buildings but only one has the ability for check in. This was 15 minutes away from mine and caused me to pay transportation to avoid lugging my luggage in the snow and ice for 15 minutes up and down hills. I was already exhausted from my flight. I would not stay there again solely based on this. Check in should be the easiest part of the stay.

We enjoyed staying at Frogner House Apartments. The apartment was very spacious for a family of 4. We were pleased about the amenities such as washing machine and dishwasher. We would choose Frogner House apartments for our next stay.

Veldig flott leilighetshotell i et stille område, kun et steinkast fra Bogstadveien, Hegdehaugsveien og Bislett.||Delikate rom med godt utstyrt kjøkken og stort bad med vaskemaskin.||Frokosten ble levert på døren; godt brød med ost, yoghurt med hjemmelaget müsli, frukt og ferskpresset juice.||Alt i alt en svært god opplevelse.

Very competent staffs and service. The area is centrally located and quick access to Restaurant, shops, groceries, bus and tram stops. The building, apartment and the open area with garden etc., makes your stay very comfortable.
